Dear Bee Lover (Please Read)

Dear Bee Lover,

I am writing you this little love letter to thank you for supporting Ben’s Bees.

For over ten years now, I have been building this company up with a deep love and respect for apiculture, the environment and the Australian community. As I am sure you are aware, small business is a risky enterprise, but I am always amazed and humbled by the support people, like yourself, show me and my work. With every jar of honey, every block of wax, beehive, tool or service purchased from Ben’s Bees, I am able to support my young family, maintain my passion, help preserve the bee population, and educate my local community. This brings a profound sense of worth to my job, and my life, and encourages me to keep making the world a better place.

It is a simple decision to support local enterprise, but for business owners like myself, it means the world. Thank you for continuing to help bees, the environment and my family through your ethical and heartfelt choices. The more hectic our lives become, the more important it is to make those humble decisions, such as where to shop, who to listen to, what to eat. It seems to me that those choices are an active way of expressing gratitude and committing to good living– I see now how my connection to my clients and community is a two way street where we appreciate and support one another.

This isn’t an airy-fairy idea, it’s very real: in fact, feeling emotions such as gratitude, love and caring generates waves that radiate to every cell in the body, whereas depleting emotions like frustration, anger and anxiety increase blood pressure, weaken the immune system and impair cognitive function. Crazy! It’s an aside perhaps, but it seems to explain why the positive feelings I get from the bee community make me feel so damn good!

Let’s keep helping each other do good work in the world, be that for bees, our families and friends, the environment or the local community.
