Waxed Bee Frames, Assembled & Wired (Full Depth)

Every new beekeeper I’ve met has a story about their first batch of frames. Nails bent, wires sagging, foundation that cracked while they were embedding it, and a whole Saturday gone. We assemble, wire and wax these ourselves so you can skip all of that and get the bees in. I’d rather you spend your first weekend watching the hive than fighting with it.

• Assembled and glued, with the wires fitted and tensioned
• Fitted with a full sheet of pure Australian beeswax foundation, wires embedded

Pick up only from Factory 55, 31-39 Norcal Road, Nunawading, by appointment. We don’t freight these items due to damage risk.

Why a real wax foundation rather than plastic?

Plastic foundation has its fans, but in our hives the bees take to real beeswax faster and draw it out more evenly, and there’s no coating to wear off or get rejected. It’s what bees build on in the wild, so they don’t need convincing.

If you’d rather wax your own frames, the pure beeswax foundation sheets are the same wax, sold per sheet.

Getting your hive set up

Fill the box with frames, hang them evenly and leave the usual bee space between them.

If you’re picking up a 5-frame nucleus hive this spring, you’ll want a box of these ready to go so the colony has room to grow when you transfer the nuc frames across. New hive boxes, bases and lids are here too, or the Traditional Langstroth Beekeeping Package bundles the whole lot with the bees.
